Zone 4 Officers say that crime is down overall for the year 2012.
Burglaries remain to be the big problem within the Zone, but the Atlanta Police efforts are said to be working.
The APD representative that attended the NPU-T meeting shared that the department has received a grant to be able to station 4 officers in the West End area along Lee Street from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. These officers are in full uniform and in marked police cars. The grant will last for 60 days, and if it works well the department plans to look for more funding to be able to keep the initiative going.
