A head-on collision on Highway 53, just west of the bridge that connects Forsyth and Hall counties, kills a 66-year-old woman Friday morning, authorities said.
Annette Woodard, of Cox Drive, in Flowery Branch, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Investigator Ron Tomblin of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
Woodard was driving west on Highway 53 in a black Cadillac SRX around 9:51 a.m. when her vehicle crossed over the centerline and struck a delivery truck driven by Carl Vest, 56, of Sand Trap Lane, in Sugar Hill. Upon impact, the Cintas Service Transport delivery truck caught on fire.
Inv. Tomblin said the cab of the truck and half of the bed of the truck was burned.
