Wheeler High School has become the first high school in the Cobb County School District to be named a “No Place for Hate” school by the Anti-Defamation League

To celebrate, school officials announced on Tuesday that Wheeler will hold an event on May 3 to mark the designation. 

Staff, student, diversity and Wheeler PTSA programs qualified Wheeler for the award, which has gone to more than 160 schools in the Southeast. The ADL also nominated Wheeler for the “Highlight Nice” Award by Atlanta radio station V-103, which will be part of the May 3 festivities beginning at 10 a.m. at the Doug Lipscomb Gym.
