Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy welcomed one of their many talented former students on Friday, as recording artist Cee-Lo and his sister broke ground at the location of their donated Greenhouse. Shedonna and her brother started the organization Greenhouse Foundation to help in the fight to end “food deserts”, and to provide healthy foods to communities that are without.
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed attended the event and thanked the family for deciding to launch their worldwide initiative, right here in Southwest Atlanta “a few miles from where I grew up.”
As the mayor said, Cee-Lo and his sister have the resources to launch this program anywhere in the world, but they chose here.
“OUR kids need this,” Shedonna Alexander said. For her and her brother giving back to the community and being philanthropic is in their blood. There are actually the 3rd generation of their family
