Former Atlanta Hawks All-Star Dominique Wilkins along with Harry the Hawk came to Acworth Thursday and celebrated the opening of the new Reading and Learning Zone with Acworth youths and the community.
Last month, the Atlanta Hawks selected the Acworth Achievers Mentoring and After School Program as the winner of this year’s $10,000 Atlanta Hawks Reading and Learning Zone Makeover, sponsored by Philips as part of the Hawks Read to Achieve program.
The new Reading and Learning Zone at the Roberts School Community Education Center includes new books, an upgrade to the interior finishes and furniture decorated with Hawks Branding and décor in an effort to make the new space a fun, motivational and valuable environment for Acworth students.
