Tybee Island Charter School A Step Closer to Approval

TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. –

A new Charter School on Tybee Island is one step closer to becoming a reality.

A group proposed opening Tybee Island Maritime Academy on the campus of Old St. Michael’s School.

The Savannah Chatham County School has approved the petition, but there are some conditions.

The board for the proposed school has until June 29th to satisfy the district’s concerns before their petition can go to the state for approval.
