When the NBC show “Who Do You Think You Are” wanted to trace cooking-show queen Paula Deen’s heritage, producers turned to a pair of Georgia College State University history professors.

What they learned about Deen’s family history airs Friday night at 8 on the program’s season finale.

According to a Georgia College news release, “Deen uncovers a profound past.”

“The whole process is a great adventure,” Wilson says.
