Wednesday’s Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, called on by former Arkansas governor and Fox News contributor Mike Huckabee, drew a huge response at many stores across metro Atlanta and beyond.
Bob Fowle, operator of Austell’s Chick-Fil-A on Austell Road, said the restaurant did not see any increase in customers this week.
He did not want to comment on Chick-Fil-A President Dan Cathey’s statements about traditional marriage.
Fowle only said, “We’re just happy to have what we have.”
The customer support has come in the wake of fierce backlash from across the nation directed at Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A following recent comments made by its president in support of traditional marriage and against same-sex marriage.
A spokesperson reported that 93-year-old Rev. Billy Graham ate a Chick-fil-A lunch at his North Carolina home on Wednesday. Graham was among a list of high-profile leaders and groups supporting the Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day, which
