Foodies in ATL rejoice! Atlanta’s first permanent food truck park is opening tomorrow evening on Howell Mill Rd (next to the I-75 bridge). Up to 15 food trucks will be offering their noshy goodness for lunch and dinner. Check the website for the day’s schedule. There’s more – live music on Thursday nights and a farmer’s market on the weekends.
Last year the City of Atlanta passed ordinances easing restrictions on food truck vendors. It’s a triple win for the city. While adding jobs to Atlanta’s economy, it positions the city favorably in a booming new market (that bad press from the Eat St series will be only a sad memory) and best of all, Atlanta’s will have some of the best street food in the country within taste bud’s reach.
Disclaimer: I attended the private opening last Friday night. Delicious doesn’t even come close to the experience. Who knows, we may have Charlie Harper sightings there soon!
