The City Of Suwanee is poised to lower the millage rate (which is used to set property taxes) in 2012. It would be the third straight year the city has lowered the benchmark property rate.
A public hearing will be held at City Hall on Thursday, Aug. 16, at 5:30 p.m. so that residents can express themselves on the proposed rate of 4.93 mills. That would be a drop of 0.72 from the current rate of 5.65.
