If you want to support injured police and firemen, stop by Oak Grove Market this Saturday.
The popular restaurant and market is hosting a fundraiser that will include local DeKalb County police officers, the K-9 unit, members of the Bomb Squad and the SWAT team.
A $10 raffle ticket purchase will also give you a chance to win a medium-sized Big Green Egg smoker worth about $800, according to the market’s Facebook page.
The fundraiser is being put on by Contribute2America, a nonprofit organization that helps the homeless in the Atlanta area. The organization is run by market co-owner Jeremy Turner, a former county police officer himself.
Contribute2America was recently the subject of a post on North Druid Hills-Briarcliff Patch as well.
