After a cool weekend across the Northeast and mid-Atlantic, a change is on the way in the form of summerlike warmth!

Say good-bye to morning lows in the 20s and 30s because a much warmer air mass is on its way to the East.

High pressure over the area will shift off the East Coast early this week and become generally stationary.

The flow around this high will send a southerly wind into the eastern part of the country, which will allow temperatures to trend upwards.

Temperatures will creep upwards from south to north throughout the early part of this week.

By Monday, temperatures will reach the 80-degree mark from Columbus, Ohio, through Charleston, W.Va., and Charlotte, N.C., with cooler values farther to the north.

The warmth will expand Tuesday with 80-degree highs from Peoria, Ill., through Richmond, Va. Seventy-degree plus temperatures will make it all the way
