Mason Lord, a Forsyth County student, had center stage for a short while during Thursday’s county commission meeting.
Lord, who recently completed eighth grade at Riverwatch Middle School, gave a speech on leadership, and was then presented with a Resolution from the board for his outstanding leadership and community involvement.
Among the accomplishments highlighted in the Resolution was Mason’s receipt of the Georgia Association of Student Councils (GASC) Middle School Member of the Year Award.
Lord was given the opportunity to present his speech on leadership at the GASC convention, which earned him first place recognition. While attending Riverwatch Middle in south Forsyth, Mason was an honor roll student, active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, competed in track and was elected to serve as school president for the 2011-2012 school year.
