Atlanta folks should keep their eyes out for the movie crew filming a remake of “Steel Magnolias” with a black cast.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution says the movie is filming in the Druid Hills area, not far from Fernbank Museum of Natural History.
Decatur Patch reported the movie had filmed April 5 at a house in Avondale Estates, on Lakeshore Drive and Berkeley Road.
According to the Huffington Post, Queen Latifah, Alfre Woodard, Phylicia Rashad and Jill Scott are among the stars in Lifetime’s remake of the classic 1989 film.
Sally Fields, Dolly Parton, Shirley MacLaine and Julia Roberts all starred in the 1989 film.
