I’m actually blushing as I write this. A few days ago I was going on a roadtrip and needed a fast audiobook to download. I had seen several posts on the new novel 50 Shades of Grey and iTunes said I would like it.
Click. Downloaded. I also downloaded Faulkner’s As I Lay Dying, if that tells you anything about my usual taste in writing.
But I was driving and I needed an easy read to listen to on the road. Audiobooks make any roadtrip go by fast.
And then things got weird.
Aside from the general erotica that college girls are known to read (think: Shanna), this book takes control freak to a new level. I won’t tell you anything else, but I’ll say this: It was not the raunchy parts that bothered me, it was the outside plotline.
