Atlanta Beltline Inc. is hosting a series of information sessions to discuss the transportation sales tax on the July 31 ballot.
Five meetings will be held across the city to provide an overview of the Atlanta BeltLine and Streetcar projects that would be funded by the one-cent sales sax earmarked for region-wide transportation projects.
The meeting for Cascade and southwest Atlanta residents will be held on Thursday, May 24, at 6:30 at the West Hunter Street Baptist Church.
The proposed transportation project on the Beltline includes 10.2 miles of new pedestrian-friendly transit that would start at MARTA stations in Midtown and Downtown and connect to the east and west sides of the Atlanta BeltLine. Roughly five miles of transit would be built on the Atlanta BeltLine’s east and west sides, with another five miles of cross-town connections across Midtown and Downtown.
Supporters say the project would connect 100,000 jobs to public
