Deputy First Class Clint Thaxton has been selected as the Headquarters Bureau Employee of the Quarter for the first quarter of 2012, according to Lt. Col. D.T. Smith of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

He is recognized for being instrumental in working with the U.S. Marshals Service Taskforce in extraditing a suspect, wanted for statutory rape, back to Forsyth County.

In April 2010, a warrant was issued for Victor Rojo, now 20 years old, for the rape of a 14-year-old girl. In October of that year, the same teenage girl disappeared from her home. Rojo was again a suspect.

A month later, in November, the young girl returned home and was charged as a runaway. During this time period, on a couple of occasions, information was obtained regarding Rojo’s probable whereabouts as he moved from state to state.
