The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred at a Winder residence this afternoon.
“A black male came into the home, they got into an argument over the gun, the firearm discharged but no one was actually injured, and the suspect ran,” Sheriff Jud Smith said.
Smith said the incident, which happened sometime before 3:30 p.m. at a home off Jessica Court in the Ashebrooke subdivision on Haymon-Morris Road, was possibly drug related and investigators had obtained a search warrant to search the home. Smith said evidence was leading in that direction.
“We’re just very fortunate no one was hurt,” Smith said.
