A local man accused of stealing Gamestop merchandise from the counter as the clerk assisted another customer, then running out the door, was identified by store personnel and investigators, Sheriff Clark Millsap said in a press release.
Bartow County Sheriff’s Office investigators charged Michael Kinsey Hayes, 22, of Wayland Circle in Cartersville, with felony shoplifting in connection with the alleged June 4 theft of items valued at more than $400.
Hayes also faces a shoplifting charge filed by Cartersville police. He is currently housed at the Bartow County jail awaiting bond on the charges.
