The Savannah Slow Ride is getting the green light, but the Savannah City Council wants some safety changes for the passenger-powered party cycle.

Council members agreed that alcohol can still be served as passengers peddle about Savannah on the quadricycles.

However, the passengers will have to wear seat belts, and the units will also have to have brake lights. While riders provide the pedal power, they do not do the steering or breaking.

The company has until July to comply with the changes.
