American rockers Rusted Root won’t be taking the stage at Virginia-Highland Summerfest this year.
A conflict with Rusted Root’s recording schedule bumped them from the festival, according to DaveFM‘s promotions manager Jay Schultz and marketing director Bryan Bazarte. Both spoke with Virginia-Highland resident and watchdog David Eckoff Friday morning.
Rusted Root was scheduled to headline the Saturday, June 2, music line-up.
Sunday headliner singer-songwriter Marc Broussard will instead perform Saturday.
Eighties rockers The Fixx will headline the Sunday, June 3, line-up.
Summerfest, a two-day art and music festival on Virginia Avenue, started in 1983 and is organized by the Virginia-Highland Civic Association.
Here’s the full music line-up:

1:45 – 2:45 / Wesley Cook

4:45 – 6:00 / The Quaildogs
