The Roswell North Elementary Education Foundation held its first ever fourth grade egg drop contest during Field Day, Monday, May 7.
Recently, the students learned about force and motion in the school’s state-of-the-art Licata Science Lab. They were quite intrigued with the lesson and the Foundation decided to continue the hands on experience and host an egg drop contest during Field Day. Stephen Matthews coordinates Field Day and was honored to host the first egg drop at RNE. Fourth grade teacher Cindy Fields spear-headed the effort and coordinated the fourth grade teachers and the building of the egg encasements. They were all given the same list of supplies and had to apply their learning to building an encasement that would survive a 10, 20 and 30 foot fall at school.
