Four days after the Rev. Elward Willis was killed in a traffic accident on North Druid Hills Road, a website launched.
It’s called N. Druid Kills Road, and it’s a call to residents of the North Druid Hills community to improve traffic safety along the community’s oft-congested main thoroughfare. The site was started by the co-president of the North Druid Valley’s homeowner association.
From the site:
The stretch of N. Druid Hills Road between N. Valley Drive and N. Druid Hills Circle is treacherous. There have been numerous fatal accidents, countless near-hits, and even pedestrians killed along this route. The reason? Increased speed, increased traffic volume, low turn visibility, and a dangerous curve. This area is deadly and we need a change.
The site is asking for stories from residents and motorists who have dangerous stories about the road.
