Firefighters were summoned to a Tucker residence this evening after an apparent lightning strike started a fire, according to a Gwinnett County official.

A 911 caller said his house in the 300 block of Braxton Place had been hit by lightning. Crews found the roof and attic fully engulfed upon arrival. No injuries have been reported but three adult residents were displaced by the fire.

A statement from Lieutenant Colin Rhoden of Gwinnett County Media Relations said, “an aggressive interior attack was made to the fire as firefighters were pushed back by the high heat conditions. Crews battled the blaze from the exterior of the house, knocking down the majority of the fire. Entry was made to complete putting out the fire and cooling any hot spots.”

The three displaced adults will not require Red
