Recovery efforts have ended for the day on Lake Lanier for a man who went missing late Friday. “We suspended the search today due to (heavy) boat traffic,” said Sgt. Mike Burgamy, Lake Lanier supervisor for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. “We’ll pick back up in the morning.” The recovery was limited today to sonar searches because of the boat traffic. Authorities “did have one hit today … and unfortunately it (turned out to be) an underwater buoy,” Burgamy said. WSB-TV has identified the victim as Jeffrey Nause, 44. The area of the lake being searched is near Legacy Lodge on Lake Lanier Islands. Water depths in the area range from 70 to 140 feet, DNR spokeswoman Robin Hill said.
