It appears that when you want to get away without really going away, you stay in Cartersville.
In this week’s regional Readers’ Choice survey of staycation destinations, three of the top four vote-getters are Cartersville sites: Tellus Science Museum, Pine Mountain Recreation Area and Booth Western Art Museum.
And even though six of the 19 poll options are in Cartersville Patch, commenters complained about a couple of the Cartersville sites we left off the list.
So it’s only fitting that this week’s Readers’ Choice for favorite staycation destination is in Cartersville: the Tellus museum.
“A selection like this means a lot because we wouldn’t be doing what we do without the support of the community,” said Joe Schulman, the museum’s director of marketing. “Thank you to everyone who has visited the museum and let others know about us.
