The first Saturday in the month of May is a special day for comic book fans — Free Comic Book Day.
While free comics are typically given away by comic book stores, the Winder Library has jumped on the bandwagon. Barrow County residents are invited to pick up a free comic book during library hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The first Free Comic Book Day event was held in 2002, and thousands of shops around the world have given away millions of free comic books to readers.
