They were furry, smooth, big and small. They could fly, crawl, slither and walk — some ever-so-slowly.

Kopp’s Kritters, an animal education/mobile petting zoo out of Athens, brought a mix of different animals to Redan-Trotti Library Wednesday morning — a pink toe tarantula, French lop, and double yellow-headed amazon, among them — for children to touch and learn about at the packed event, part of DeKalb Library’s summer reading program.
