More than 20 Gwinnett County officers participated in Operation “Crackdown” on July 12-13, targeting more than 100 subjects monitored by state probation and patrol units.
The Georgia Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Units requested the special detail, which consisted of warrant services and compliance checks of active probationers and parolees, according to a press release from Gwinnett County police.
The state probation and parole unit provided 16 officers, along with two Department of Corrections K9 teams. Twenty two Gwinnett County Police Officers from “community response teams” volunteered to assist.
Results of the special detail are:
- 32 locations checked
- 9 probation and/or parole violations
- 17 felony arrests
- 4 misdemeanor arrests
- 1 citation
- 1 search warrant
- 2 grams of meth
- 464.5 grams of marijuana
- 29 prescription pills
- 2 stolen credit cards
- 2 stolen Georgia identification cards
- $1000.00 in United States currency
