Vincent S. Fairlie, 84, of Lawrence Township died peacefully in his sleep Sunday, July 8, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.
Born in January 1928 in New York, after completing high school in Johnstown, he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1945. He retired from the Air Force in 1966 settling in Hamilton Square, N.J. He attended and graduated from Mercer County Community College and Trenton State College with a degree in accounting.
He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement in 1986. Mr. Fairlie then worked for the Trenton Times as a distribution supervisor and in later years he was an accountant for HR Block.
During 20 years of service in the U.S. Army Air Corp and U.S. Air Force, Mr. Fairlie served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
