Woman killed, another injured by shooter
One woman was killed and another injured in a shooting in south DeKalb County on April 29.
Peter McLean, 19, was charged with murder and aggravated assault for a shooting that occurred at approximately 4 p.m. after a dispute between the suspect and some residents of a home at 3012 River Road, according to Mekka Parish, DeKalb County Police spokeswoman.
“We are not considering it domestic related,” Parish said.
After the suspect got into the confrontation, he tried to leave, but got into a car accident at the scene, Parish said.
The suspect got out of the car and a second confrontation occurred, Parish said.
The man began firing into the group, striking the two women, Parish said.
Latonya Jones, 29, was killed and Shevilla Geddis, 19, is in stable condition after the shooting.
