College graduation is something to celebrate- Saturday, many area students marched across their schools stage and picked up their diplomas.

But now, will they be able to put those degrees to work? Georgia’s unemployment rate for March was 9 percent, a slight decrease from March of last year.

The grads from Armstrong Atlantic State Dniversity’s are hoping they have what it takes to begin their careers.

Meredith Griffith is graduating with a degree in Radiologic Science.

“Well, I have already been looking. I would like to work with the government or the VA.”

That job might come sooner than later.

March’s unemployment rate came in at 9 percent, compared to 9.8 percent in March 2011.

Mussi Teklea came from Ethiopia to study Respiratory Therapy. He has hopes the economy continues to stabilize.

“Im very sure the economy will not stay like this.
