To borrow from what someone sweetly said in a note, “Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers you love.”

There is something undeniably sacred about a mother’s love. She nurtures, she protects, she fights our battles, and she listens like no other on earth.

One of my mother’s favorite poems was “A Mother’s Love,” by Helen Steiner Rice. A part of it reads:

“… It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking, And it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking…It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns, And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems…”

How true.
