A Marietta man was killed Friday afternoon trying to cross Austell Road just north of Hicks Road.
The death of Arthur Horne, 38, was at least the fourth time in two months that a pedestrian was killed in Cobb County while trying to cross a road outside a crosswalk.
Horne walked into the path of a southbound gray 2004 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Claudia Hopkins, 22, of Austell about 6 p.m. Friday, Cobb County police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said.
Horne was pronounced dead at WellStar Cobb Hospital in Austell. Hopkins was not hurt and is not expected to be charged.
Still, police ask anyone with information about the crash to call 770-499-3987.
The fatal collision occurred about 2½ miles north of where Wendy Nolan of Austell was fatally struck by a Toyota Corolla while trying to cross Austell Road south of Floyd Road
