About $360,000 has been raised so far in this years Macon/Bibb Relay for Life, with about $50,000 turned in Friday night at the event at the Al Sihah Shrine Park.
Tena Dominy, the Relay for Life chairwoman, said theres no doubt that the $425,000 goal will be reached when the fundraising drive ends in August for the American Cancer Society.
Were well on target, she said.
Fridays overnight event inspired volunteers to work even harder to finish well, she said.
In all, 157 teams participated and about 550 cancer survivors were on hand by the time the event drew to a close, Dominy said.
