After two days of record highs, Macon is not expected to set a new record high for May 1.
The National Weather Service is forecasting a high of 89 Tuesday, shy of the record of 94 set in 1906.
The mercury hit 94 on Monday, breaking the previous record high of 93 set April 30, 1987.
Sunday’s high of 92 broke the record of 90 degrees from April 29, 1991.
