Christopher Williams, the man accused of shooting and killing a Dunwoody man at the Peachtree Place apartments is still in DeKalb County Jail, facing multiple charges.
The Stone Mountain man was arrested shortly after the shooting, which took place after meeting Roberto Calderon-Guzman, who advertised as an escort on backpage.com, according to Dunwoody PD.
The two apparently met up in late June via the online advertisement at Guzman’s Dunwoody apartment. Witnesses at the scene described a botched robbery that led to the shooting. Guzman later died at a nearby hospital.
It was Dunwoody’s first homicide of the year, and the first in the last two years, according to a recent Dunwoody crime stats report. Overall, violent crimes are sharply down, but that stat doesn’t mean much in this case.
Acording to jail information, Williams is serving time in the “NE” housing block.
