Melissa Davis didn’t know when she opened Little Blessings Family Preschool and Consulting in Dacula back in 1993 that she would operate the business for the next 11 years and she certainly didn’t know that in 2012 she would be honored for her accomplishments in strengthening family child care.
Davis decided to leave her bank job and open Little Blessings Family Preschool and Consulting in Dacula when her own family child care provider announced it was moving and her efforts to find another quality caregiver failed.
Davis operated her Dacula based business from April of 1993 to May of 2004 when she joined the Child Licensing Section of the Georgia Department of Human Resources. Later that year when Governor Sonny Perdue created the agency Bright from the Start, Davis became a Child Care Consultant and was soon promoted to Lead Consultant.
