Do you have one hour a week to help an elementary school student succeed? Communities in Schools, our nation’s leading dropout prevention organization, is currently seeking elementary school tutors to help in the Mableton area. Georgia currently only has a 72.3% graduation rate; however, studies have shown that students who read proficiently by the 3rd grade are less likely to drop out. Literacy tutors help students increase their confidence as well as improve upon their reading level. Training is provided and matches are made based upon the tutor’s preference. Volunteers must be availble to tutor during the school’s normal operating hours! If you are interested in helping a student achieve please contact Meghan Wilson at (678) 503-0901 or mwilson@cismcc.org
