Lake Lanier boaters may find a new addition to enhance their safety on the water. Lake Lanier Islands Resort has added new channel markers in the area surrounding the Sunset Cove beaches. The red-and-green markers are designed to help boaters navigate the busy harbor. There have been three high-profile boat accidents on the lake this summer that have caused four deaths, including the June 18 accident that took the lives of brothers Griffin and Jake Prince. “The combined safety and enjoyment of our guests is and always will be our No. 1 concern,” Grier Todd, Lake Lanier Islands Management Co.’s chief operations officer, said in a press release. “While Islands’ management and staff were all deeply saddened by the tragedies that have occurred elsewhere on Lake Lanier this summer, plans have been in the works to maximize the protection of Resort visitors ever since Sunset Cove Article source: http://www.gainesvilletimes.com/section/6/article/70675/
