Kennesaw State University rising sophomore Kaew Preamchuen (Chachoengsao, Thailand/Datdaruni School) begins her second round of play at the 112th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship at The Country Club in Cleveland, Ohio, today. Preamchuen is one of 156 players set to tee off during the opening day of play.
The tournament format calls for 36 holes of stroke play on Monday and Tuesday with the top 64 advancing to match play beginning Wednesday and concluding with the championship match on Sunday, Aug. 12. Match play seedings will be determined by stroke play finish.
Preamchuen, who is appearing in her first U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship, is scheduled to tee off at 12:50 p.m. today from the 10th hole. She is grouped with Maia Schechter (Takoma Park, Md./North Carolina) and Alex Carl (Union, Ky./Cincinnati).
