The Macon Water Authority will host its annual kids fishing derby Saturday at Lucas Lake. No fishing license is required.
Children ages 3 to 16 may cast their lines for the biggest catch of the day. Adults, which will be admitted only if accompanied by a child, may fish for free in designated areas away from the competition. Participating kids must catch their own fish to enter the derby.
Registration opens at 7 a.m. with the weigh-in beginning at 10:30 a.m., when the top three largest catches in four age-group categories will be awarded prizes. In addition, a grand prize will go to the biggest catch of the day. Lunch and refreshments will
