In a move that was meant to surprise his mother, Kell High School football safety Quincy Mauger announced his verbal commitment to the University of Georgia Bulldogs before the start of the school’s prospect camp on Friday.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Mauger had picked Georgia over the University of Central Florida last week, but kept his decision close to the vest until the announcement just before the annual “Dawg Night” camp.
“I picked Georgia because it has everything I need to be successful with academics and on the football. It’s a great opportunity, and I took it,” said Mauger in the AJC.
It remains to be seen whether or not Mauger’s decision will influence Brendan Langley, who is also attending the camp despite claiming that UGA was number four on his list of schools to attend. Langley and Mauger have
