Kell High School‘s football duo of Brendan Langley and Quincy Mauger had hoped to play in the same backfield at the collegiate level, continuing their legacy of excellent football together.

These dreams will not come true, as Langley verbally committed to the University of South Carolina on Wednesday.

The 6’1″, 187 lb Langley said in a press release:

“Special thanks to the Kell High School community who is always supportive of our program in supporting our fundraisers and attending our friday night games. And to Natarvis Chang, my head coach Derek Cook, Eric Burke, and Fabian Stone, who all mentored me throughout this process and kept me level headed. There’s no football like Kell Football”

Mauger surprised his own mother with his commitment to the University of Georgia last month.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Langley’s commitment to the Gamecocks is another Georgia heist for Coach
