A Mableton man who was accidentally deported in March and then brought back to the U.S. now faces deportation again on Aug. 13. Supporters are holding a press conference about the situation Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Juan Carlos Guevara, a 2010 Pebblebrook High graduate, was hit by a drunk driver in June 2011. Guevara is not a legal U.S. citizen or resident.
When police arrived on the scene, Guevara was arrested for driving without a license.
Guevara paid his immigration bond, was released to return home, and he waited to hear about his court date.
Months passed, and Guevara never received notice about any court date. He then went to immigration court to check again about his court date, and was told that there was not a record of his court date in the database yet.
