Roughly 700 homes in northern DeKalb County have been assessed values too high and the owners will receive new assessments, according to the DeKalb appraiser’s office.
A lot of them are in Dunwoody neighborhoods – addresses on Mt. Vernon Way, Summerset Drive and Vernon North Drive, Dunwoody Place and many others. Others are in Brookhaven – including Clairmont Drive, Skyland Drive, Carlton Place – and the North Druid Hills area.
The change in some cases is whopping. A home on Dunwoody Place was originally assessed for around $422,000. It was reassessed at $188,000.
