Macon may be a short stop for Harrison Ford, Chris Meloni and the other actors wholl be in town to shoot 42, the new motion picture about baseball legend Jackie Robinson.
But if they wanted to get a quick take on some locales that are quintessentially Macon, here are a few to consider:
The Big House, 2321 Vineville Ave.: Several members of the Allman Brothers Band and their families rented this Tudor-style mansion in the early 1970s. It is now an ABB museum. For more Allman Brothers nostalgia, there is Rose Hill Cemetery, at 1091 Riverside Drive, where original band members Duane Allman and Berry Oakley are buried side by side in a tranquil hollow overlooking the Ocmulgee River.
Ocmulgee National Monument: The visitors center houses an archaeological museum with exhibits
