In front of parents, teachers, administrators and friends, 220 seniors from Oconee County High School marched onto the floor of UGA’s Stegeman Coliseum Saturday evening and left as graduates.
“Today is a day to cherish, but also to build upon our past. So that we will not stay forever in the halls of OCHS but instead lead our journey into the world,” said Valedictorian Berta Franzluebbers. “I wish all of you today a triumphant graduation from your past and a wonderful commencement to your future.”
Also in the top three of the class were Salutatorian Adrian Tasistro-Hart and Honorarian Tracey Pu.
The senior class chose “This is Your Life” by the Switchfoot as their class song and adopted the following motto by William Arthur Ward:
If you can imagine it, you can achieve it;
if you can dream it, you can become it.
