Five Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) students were invited to New York City this week to be honored for their artistic talents, including a student from Grayson High School.
The students from Brookwood High, Mill Creek High, Peachtree Ridge High, and the Grayson High Technical Education Program are part of an elite group of 1,400 students from across the nation who were recognized in the 2012 National Scholastic Art Writing Awards program.
The Gwinnett honorees and their teachers are:
- Isaac Kerns, of Grayson High Technical Education Program, was awarded a gold medal for photography entitled “Liquesce.” His teacher is Carisa Griffin.
- Emily Hudson, of Brookwood High, was awarded a gold medal for printmaking entitiled “Singer.” Her teacher is Maria Thomas.
- Victoria Lee, of Brookwood High, was awarded a silver medal for a design entitled “Liberarse.” Her teacher is Chris Vigardt.
