The Grady High School mock trial team finished runners-up at the 2012 National High School Mock Trial Championships in Albuquerque this weekend.
Albuquerque Academy of New Mexico beat out the Grady team for the first place title.
The Grady mock trial team won the state competition in March to secure a spot in the national championship.
Last year, Grady placed fourth in the national competition.
Mock trial competitions involve students reenacting trials in front of a panel of professional lawyers and judges. The trials include prosecutors, defense lawyers, defendants and witnesses.
The Grady team won the state title four consecutive years and six overall in school history.
